Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) therapy is slowly gaining speed in the medical world to treat various medical conditions. Here at Elite Aesthetics Institute, we know how valuable and important these procedures are, as we’ve been teaching methods similar to it, such as Lypo-Gold, for years. PRP therapy with adult stem cells or with adipose stem cells offers many great benefits to your client. Read on to find out more about this process.
What Is It?
Platelet-rich plasma, also known as autologous conditioned plasma, is a concentrate of platelet-rich plasma protein derived from whole blood. It is then centrifuged to remove the red blood cells. This therapy uses injections of a patient’s own platelets to help in the aid of healing injured ligaments, muscles, tendons and joints. These PRP injections are essentially using a client’s own healing system to improve their musculoskeletal issues.
The practical applications of using PRP injections are far and wide, as it can treat injuries along with filling in facial hollowness and correcting wrinkles and fine lines. Doctors will most often use a series of injections into the injured area, such as a muscle, with PRP in several locations. The platelets will break down and release growth factors, which are compounds that help cells repair and renew.
The injections of PRP are typically done with just the platelets, but with the Lypo-Gold Method, this technique adds one more ingredient to their healing capabilities: adult stem cells. These cells are undifferentiated cells, meaning they can create multiple kinds of cells in the body. Adult stem cells are found throughout the body after maturity, and can replenish and repair damaged tissues and cells. Adipose stem cells are a type of adult stem cell typically found in fat tissues, and extracted during procedures like liposuction or abdominoplasty. Adipose stem cells are also undifferentiated and multipotent in their regenerative capabilities.
With Lypo-Gold, we begin by collecting a small sample of the adipose stem cells from the client, typically from the belly area. Using a device called the Mini-TC, we “process” the tissue by reducing as much of the fat cells as possible, leaving behind the stem cells. We then combine this with PRP, and reinject this mixture into the affected areas of the client’s body. This method has been shown to significantly improve wrinkles, face lines, brow lines, jawlines, neck wrinkles, hand wrinkles and sagging skin, along with alopecia. It’s gaining traction as the latest in aesthetics.
Results are visible in two to three weeks, with a gradual increase after that as the skin’s collagen and elastin production steps up from the stem cells being introduced and working their way into the tissue. Clients will feel an improvement in their skin’s texture, feeling smoother and younger, while the signs of aging will slowly reduce.
Medical advancements are happening faster these days, with more proven results. Doctors are getting research and studies completed in better, more practical applications to better humanity for whatever ailments they may be experiencing. PRP with adipose stem cells has already proven to help treat a myriad amount of issues for clients, and the research will only continue and improve upon an already fascinating and revolutionary technique.
